PCV Kokonas Bible Translation Presentation – Mission Conference 2026

PCV Kokonas presentation for Mission Conference 2026 exploring Bible translation as a ministry of the church, Scripture engagement, and the role of churches and communities in translating and using Scripture to transform lives.

This PCV Kokonas Bible Translation presentation forms part of the Mission Conference 2026 resources under the theme “Revisioning PCV Mission.” It explores Bible translation as a ministry of the church and the importance of Scripture bringing transformation to churches and communities. The presentation reviews movements in the global church, the history of Bible translation and the need for Scripture in local languages. It highlights the importance of local church involvement, understanding the church’s vision, and encouraging communities to engage with translated Scripture. Its translation strategy brings together three principles: Bible translation as a ministry of the church, an integrated oral-literate process, and church and community based quality assurance. A process diagram outlines the translation and review stages, followed by discussion questions about the transformation PCV churches and communities want to see and why Bible translation should be part of their ministry.
